Unfortunately, there is not much to say in this article. It was a bad night for the boys track team as they took merely 12th place, still above most in their league but not at the same level as unbelievable towns like Concord-Carlisle. On a brighter note, the girls slid their way into 4th place, earning points left and right.

There were some unbelievable turn arounds and some very sad moments. One of the saddest, in my opinion, was when the girls relay team was disqualified. One of their hand offs was out of the passing zone, making the move illegal, but a referee mistakenly put up a white flag indicating that there was nothing wrong. When the race ended there was a lot of confusion, as the ref then said that they were disqualified. Sorry girls, you’ll get them in the spring!

On the boys front there were no sad moments or even happy moments. Everyone was very tired or and zoned out, the races kept ending with less than desirable results. Of course, with our inevitable downfall there had to be towns that would experience the glory that Hingham usually earns. The most outstanding performance was by Concord-Carlisle’s own Thomas Ratcliffe he wiped out competition just like he was expected to. Ratcliffe is one of the best in the country and is well known in the state of Massachusetts. Later in the meet, I heard people talking about how he was actually going very easy because he was saving up energy for an even bigger meet called the Grand Prix. Good luck, Ratcliffe.

And to all of the boys and girls on the track team who didn’t make their goals or PR, take these words to heart, and practice harder than ever. I excited to see the results of all of your hard work in the spring season!
