The Immaturity of Donald Trump

Will Bierwirth, Contributing Writer

In the past month since Super Tuesday on March 2nd, insults, violent remarks, and verbal battles have been traded between Republican politicians in the 2016 presidential race. Donald Trump has led the way with his bizarre antic. He has recently tweeted out pictures of his wife, Melania, comparing Ted Cruz’s, the second placed candidate’s, wife, Heidi. The two photos next to each other are visibly different: Melania’s must have been taken professionally while Heidi’s appears to have been taken by a smartphone during a speech. The caption on the photo read, “No need to spill the beans, the images are worth a thousand words.” The reference here is that, Trump is promoting the rumor that Cruz has cheated on Heidi, as she appears angry in the photo while Melania is smiling in her picture.

Trump depicts his complete lack of respect for other candidates and his immaturity perfectly in this tweet. Sophomore and Ted Cruz supporter, Steven Reis says, “Trump directs his attacks on irrelevant topics, not the important issues.” This is completely true. Whenever Trump is asked a question in debates on foreign policy and economic issues, he take shots at Ted Cruz and John Kasich, something a Commander-in-Chief cannot do in office. Also, Trump has attacked Cruz calling him, “Lyin’ Ted.”

I am not saying I support either one of these candidates (I don’t— go Bernie!) but I am saying that Donald J. Trump is not a viable or proper candidate for the U.S. Presidential office. Without a doubt, Donald Trump is not suited to be the next president of the United States of America.
