On Wednesday, January 25th, both the male and female track teams piled onto buses bound for the Reggie Lewis Athletic Center in Roxbury. It was the final regular meet of the indoor track season, and spirits were high. Sophomore Caroline Johannes recalled, “Everyone was in an upbeat and optimistic mood. It was so fun to watch all the success our team had and the positive energy that was circulating!”

As Johannes hinted, both the boys and girls teams won their meets. The boys pummeled Duxbury, winning 65 to 35, and the girls triumphed as well, scoring 73 points. The meet also served as a chance to determine who will continue to run during the invitational season, motivating high performances across every event.

Senior and Captain Jack Muldoon remarked, “I had a great time.”

Freshman Owen Hull decided to thank Jesus for the win, explaining, “I really liked how everyone used their spirit to guide them to the light.”

Junior JD Hernberg seemed somewhat torn on how to feel about the end of his season; “It’s a little bittersweet,” he conceded. However, both teams seemed elated at ending the season with a win.

As the bus began the long drive home at 8:00 on Wednesday night, the athletes celebrated by blasting classic tunes and looking forward to either the upcoming invitationals or the spring season ahead of them.
