For years now, Hingham High School has been hosting an annual fair to jumpstart the holiday season. With Thanksgiving and Christmas around the corner, what better way to get in the mood than some breathtaking decor and perfect last-second gifts. Entry admission is 5$ and it includes a raffle ticket for a chance to win big! Each year, a portion of the money raised is donated to Dana Farber Cancer research. This event will be held on November 23, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
If you are wondering what to expect Saturday, look no further. Feel free to shop and look around at one of the over 90 exhibitors displaying wonderful holiday decor and thoughtful presents. If shopping until you drop doesn’t already sound like the greatest idea ever, the holiday fair will also host a variety of food trucks to replenish those gifting muscles.
When asked about his experience at the holiday fair in previous years, Hingham High sophomore Casey Joseph said, “ I went last year with my family and had an awesome time. I loved all of the food trucks, and crossed lots of names off my list of people to buy presents for.”
If you are like many and completely forget to go Christmas shopping, don’t sweat it. All of the vendors sell unique items tailored to anyone’s taste. Within just minutes you will have a full basket of presents to put a smile on everyone’s face. Even if you just want to go on a little shopping spree or buy something to improve the house just a bit, the holiday fair has you covered with some excellent home decor to brighten up any room, and make your house feel a little more like home.
While tension and stress levels may be high around this time of year. Hingham High’s talented thinkers are always creating new ideas to bring the town closer and improve overall mood. Hingham high sophomore Dom Lieto described the atmosphere as, “really bright and cool. All of the vendors and smiling people kind of just made me happier.”
Lots of people forget that this joyful atmoshere is what the holiday season is all about. Being close to your loved ones and maintaining happiness is worth so much more than any material object.
