Students at Hingham High School involved themselves with this week’s Spirit Week created by the Hingham Student Council! With Winter Break approaching, the participation was through the roof with spirit. The Hingham Student Council loves presenting these ideas, and they always do an amazing job bringing joy to school.
Day 1:
The first day of Spirit Week kicked off with pajama day! Pajama Day is always a classic start to the week because students love being in their pajamas on a Monday, and makes the day go smoothly and comfortably! Senior, Taylor Fabrizio enjoyed wearing her pajamas, and commented, “Waking up on a Monday morning and remembering that I do not have to put a stiff pair of jeans on made my whole week! I am so thrilled to be a part of the Hingham Student Council because they do an amazing job organizing events like Spirit Week.”
Day 2:
Day two of Spirit Week was Dress Like a Holiday Movie Character! All the students had a wonderful time participating in this day because of all the iconic holiday movies! While walking through the halls, students were dressed up in Grinch outfits, characters from the Polar Express, and many more costumes!
Day 3:
On Wednesday, the theme was Candy Cane! This day involved way more participation due to the quick decision on what to wear. The red and white striped theme also represented the town colors of Hingham and a successful description of the holiday atmosphere. Junior, Livvy Rogers, mentioned, “I had so much fun being included in school spirit. It was so easy to pick out my outfit for Candy Cane Day, and I noticed that the participation was exceeding expectations!”
Day 4:
Adding another day to Spirit Week, Thursday’s theme was Flannel Day. Throughout December, flannel is represented in decorations, clothing, and gift wrapping. The pattern gives an extreme holiday feel and gets people into the mood to celebrate!
Day 5:
Finally, the last day of Spirit Week was Ugly Sweater Day! Ugly sweaters are iconic and represent the joy and happiness of the holiday season. They are known to bring a smile to someone else’s face which may lighten up someone’s day. There were several amazing types of sweaters that students wore!
Thank you to the Hingham Student Council and anyone else who helped to organize Spirit Week. It was a remarkable success, and the students cannot wait until the next one!
