On June 7 at 10 am, a cloudy but rain-free morning, the 261 students of the class of 2025 graduated from Hingham High School, marking their transition from student body to alumni.
The event was thoughtfully and carefully planned in order to give the graduates the best send-off into their future endeavors. Thankfully, the projected rain held out until the late evening, so the class of 2025 could enjoy the traditional Hingham High outdoor ceremony. Ushered in under rose arches by the freshman siblings of the graduates, seniors took their seats along the field to receive their diplomas. Principal Dr. Buckey, School Committee Chair Jennifer Benham, Valedictorian Tala Sandford, Salutatorian Ryan Klein, student-elected speaker Cab Amidei, and class president Ryan Burns all addressed their class.
All of the speeches, whether they were about high school being a transitional “far parking lot” of life, about enjoying the messy in-between moments of life or wearing your own version of a “Hello Kitty” outfit, moved the audience to laughter and tears. After speeches, each and every student walked among their classmates to receive their diploma; the event ended with the ceremonial tassel toss and cap throw! Congratulations to the Class of 2025, good luck in all of your future endeavors!”
