The week of June 9-13 is the last week of classes for students at Hingham High School! While some classes are wrapping up material, others are preparing for their exams. Junior Ani Alessi explains, “In most of my classes I am preparing for finals which is nice because I have class time to ask my teachers questions. However, on Friday, the last day of school, I have some more interesting things planned for my classes. For example, I am doing a book swap in English class which I am excited for!”
As for the final exams, they will take place the following week on Monday, June 16 and Tuesday, June 17. The History and Math exams are on Monday, while the Science and English exams are on Tuesday.
Different students have varying opinions about the last week of school. Some students are excited for summer, some are sad to leave all of their teachers, and some are stressed about exams the following week. For example, junior Kaitlyn Manning explains “I am in two core AP classes, History and English, so I only have to take two final exams next week. Therefore, I am not really stressed out about finals and am really excited for summer! It will be really nice to have more time for myself and hanging out with friends and family.”
However, not all students take a lot of core AP classes. In fact, Sam Ruddick says “I take AP Stats but that is an elective course, therefore I have to take 4 final exams. However, I am not super stressed because I have been preparing all week during my classes and I am really excited for summer.”
In addition, junior Max Friedman explains, “I am pretty excited about the last week of school. However, I am also a little bit sad especially because I am going to Thayer next year, so I am trying to take in the last week of school with all my friends and teacher here at Hingham.”
In the end, these different experiences show students varying perspectives about the last week of school. Have a good summer!
