On September 15, 2025, members of the Hingham School Committee, state officials, and several other esteemed guests joined Principal Scheufele in the official ribbon-cutting ceremony for the brand new Foster Elementary School Building. Originally, the project began when it received its approval at a special town meeting in November 2022. The cost for this construction was an estimated $113,000,000; recently, the MSBA (Massachusetts School Building Authority) announced that the state funded a whopping $29 million, which accounted for 25.6% of the costs.
The ceremony included speakers like Foster Principal Scheufele and Linda Hill from the building committee, as well as several current fifth-grade Foster students and a grand presentation from Mr. Landis and his amazing chorus! With this exciting ribbon-cutting, all of the Foster staff and students are excited for this new chapter.
