Term 1 concluded on Tuesday, November 5, 2025, and many students have mixed opinions about its end. Some students are relieved, especially the freshmen, who are glad to have survived their first term at Hingham High School and the early jitters. Other students are sad because the end of the first term means the conclusion of sports teams for many, as well as the return to their routine and no more exciting changes. Regardless, each student has their own perspective and hopes for the future.
Sophia Kruzer, a freshman at Hingham High School, who was asked about her experience, said, “I am very excited that the term is over. I found term one to be really tough, especially doing a sport in the fall and figuring out a balance between everything.” Many freshmen agreed with Sophia, especially because balancing all the work along with figuring out a new school, maybe even a play or a sport can be really hard.
Similarly, freshman Grace Zimmerman said, “I am excited to have a fresh start in the second term, and I can’t believe how fast term one went by. High school was definitely a big change, but it is worth getting used to!”
In contrast sophomore Ellie Rogers said, “I think the first term was exciting and fun because I got to see friends and I enjoyed getting back into a routine after such a long summer. But the first term was also stressful, especially towards the end, because I had a lot of work each night. Through it all, though, I am still excited for term two!”
Finally, junior Abbey George said, “Although it was super nice to get back in touch with friends after the summer break, school has been very stressful. Junior year has a lot going on, and there is a lot of work to complete. I am hopeful term two will be better, though.”
Overall, many students have agreed that the first term has been a lot of stress for everyone, but the new school year is bound to be so, especially with all the nerves.
