For the past month, keeping up positivity at HHS has been extremely important. We’ve recognized the type of atmosphere we want to uphold, and we understand that actions need to be taken in order to sustain that goal. Our mission statement says that HHS students will “graduate with the academic, civic, social, and personal skills necessary to become responsible members … of an everchanging global society.”

To keep these goals in mind, the Anti Defamation League has helped set up a new activity in the cafeteria. There are seven large posters hung on the cafeteria walls, each with a single letter, lined up to spell out “Hingham.” On each poster, people can write defining characteristics and actions that start with that letter, describing the ideal HHS students. Words like “helpful” and “attentive” cover the posters. The whole activity has become a very constructive and reminds everyone of the environment we try to uphold at HHS.
