Hingham Girl’s Basketball’s First Playoff Game of the Year

Both teams prepare to react to a rebound of the foul shot.

After an unreal season, Hingham Girl’s varsity team entered their post-season with a heightened game against Oliver Ames.

Last year, the girls lost to Oliver Ames in the semi finals, putting their successful season to an end. With last year on their minds, both teams rallied and performed a phenomenal game. Starter number forty-four Ellie Holler describes, “They walked into the gym like they already beat us…”.

At the beginning of the game, it seemed just like that. The first Quarter ended with a score of 12-4 Oliver Ames. Ellie also adds , “It was frustrating at first with the refs and our shots not falling but with all the fans there packing the gym it was truly amazing and we really fed off that energy.” The girls caught up, ending the first half 18-14, Oliver Ames still ahead.

The second half consisted of amazing plays by both https://www.acheterviagrafr24.com/vente-viagra/ Blasetti sisters, Haley (eleventh grade) and Riley (ninth grade), and Grace Benis (ninth grade). Sophomore, Abby Bienfang commented on Grace after an amazing three point shot, “She’s a lil’ nugget! I can’t. I’m going to adopt her as my sister”. The crowd roared as Hingham pulled through with a lead in the last quarter. The last few minutes consisted of back and forth foul shots, creating a intense stress in the air.

Hingham won the game 42-36 and will continue on in the playoffs, Oliver Ames has been knocked out of the post-season. Hingham’s next game will be Saturday, march 4th in Foxborough,MA. The team hopes to see just as loud a crowd as last game. Good luck Hingham!
