Hingham High School students were overjoyed this week and presented outstanding school spirit. With Homecoming weekend approaching, the HHS student body participated in Spirit Week, with many thrilling themes and outfits! Hingham Student Council has done an amazing job organizing this event and wanted as many students to participate as possible.

Day 1:

The first day of Spirit Week kicked off with pajama day! Pajama day is a great way to enter the week and to be nice and cozy on a Monday. Senior Olivia Daley was thrilled to enter the week in her pajamas and stated, “I think it was great to have pajama day on a Monday because it is always extremely hard to wake up and get ready for school. Wearing my PJs to school made a great start to my week!”

Day 2:

Furthermore, the second day of Spirit Week was especially popular, with everyone dressing up as a different decade! The freshmen dressed up in the ’60s, the sophomores did amazing with a disco theme in the ’70s, the juniors dressed up in the ’80s, and the seniors overall won with their theme of the 2000s. The teachers also did an excellent job with their ’90s theme!

Day 3:

Day three was definitely a favorite with a theme of Barbie vs. Oppenheimer! Both movies were extremely popular this year and the students did great with the theme! Sophomore Ella O’Neil went all out in a full pink set. She watched Barbie multiple times this year and mentioned, “I really loved the movie and knew I had to dress up in pink! I think that many people participated and it was really incredible to see all the different outfits!” Overall, Barbie vs. Oppenheimer had a great outcome and everyone hoped to do it again!

Day 4:

On Thursday, the theme was rodeo and the participation was amazing. Many people wore cowboy hats and jeans. The energy of the student body was greatly overwhelming because the week was coming to an end. Overall, many people, including the teachers dressed up in rodeo-theme!

Day 5:

For the last day of Spirit Week, the theme was red-out to get prepared for all of the home games on Saturday. The energy in the school was extraordinary because the entertaining weekend was approaching and students were overjoyed for Homecoming! Also, at the end of the day on Friday, there was a pep rally to get everyone excited for the games and the dance on Saturday night!

The Hingham High School teachers and students made Spirit Week full of events and entertaining themes!
