This past week, the Hingham High School Advanced Art Show has been showcased in Room 103. The show included the work of all the Seniors in the Portfolio, Graphic Design & Photography III, and A.P. Studio Art classes. These students have worked diligently all year to create beautiful, engaging, finished works to be featured in the show.

As a Portfolio and Graphics III student, it was great to watch this show come together. Senior Italia DeCola remarks that, “It was great to see everyone’s artwork all together. Everyone has put so much time and effort into their pieces, and getting recognition for your work is a great feeling. I’m very proud to be in this talented group of people.”

The Advanced Art Show is a tradition that goes on year after year at Hingham High School. Senior Lucy Collins reflects, that she “always looked forward to seeing the advanced student shows in the past and I was so excited to be a part of it this year. Everyone has worked so hard all year long and it really showed. There was a great sense of collaboration and mutual support with this show; we all worked together and helped each other choose our best pieces and arrange our displays and I’m so proud to have been able to show my pieces alongside such a talented group of people.”

The Advanced Show closed on Friday, but there is still time to see this group’s art. The K-12 Fine Arts Showcase at Town Hall opens March 27, and will be open until April 7. Hingham High School’s Class of 2017 certainly has a talented group of artists, and I look forward to seeing what else they will produce in the short nine weeks seniors have until their last day.
