Other than writing or taking photos, MK swims on both the Webb's Tornadoes club team and the Hingham high school swim and dive team. Outside of school, she enjoys volunteering in her community through the Special Olympic Organization.

Before Kristin Mccarthy spoke, she asked the audience to raise their hands. When a name was said that they didnt know, they had to put their hand down. She started with well-known names like George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, and Trevon Martin. Then, the hands slowly came down as another 101 names of victims were read, distilling the message that police brutality is not an isolated issue.
