The Hingham Harborwomen faced off against the Whitman-Hanson Panthers last Friday. Before the game, the girls took a moment to honor their graduating senior captain, Abbey Foley, commemorating her four years on the team. Foley is known as a hard-working, dedicated, and enthusiastic teammate both on and off the court.

“It has been an honor to coach her,” explained Head Coach Buczynski in a heartfelt speech about Foley to the crowd. Although the girls fell to the Panthers shortly after, unable to recover to their early lead, the night was still filled with impressive performances from both Captains Foley and Junior Perry Blasetti.

In reflection of her time at Hingham, Foley says, “The past four years with the girl’s basketball program have been amazing. I really learned a lot about myself and made lifelong friends. Although this year has been different, the team and I have made the most of it. Even with small crowds, we bring the energy up in each other and in the gym which makes playing seem a lot more normal. Being part of the program has been amazing and I will miss it a lot in college. But I know the team will continue to thrive and I can’t wait to come back and see more games!”

The hoopers went on to win against the Marshfield Ram’s Wednesday night, finishing these final games strong.
