The Harborwomen have an upcoming game on December 23 against the Duxbury Dragons. The game will take place at the Bog Arena at 1:20 in Kingston, Massachusetts. The Haborwomen already have one win under their belts in the early season, as they won their first game against Marshfield 3-1 on December 16th, 2023. With the weather and power outages, their original time for Wednesday 12/20 at 5:20 was rescheduled as Duxbury High did not have school and, therefore, could not play.

The charwomen were also successful in their pre-season games in their yearly tournament in St. Albans, Vermont. They played BFA and Essex and won both by at least two goals. This tournament is a great team-bonding experience, especially since the 2023-2024 season includes seven new freshmen on the roster. Sophomore Brenna Doherty states that she, “Looks forward to Vermont every year because it’s a fun couple days with my teammates and everyone gets to know each other. The vibes are always great since the games don’t go on our record so everyone can relax and just play some good hockey”.

The upcoming game on Saturday is much anticipated by both teams, as Duxbury and Hingham always have hard-fought games during the hockey season. Duxbury girls’ hockey played Silver Lake, and they achieved an astounding seven goals against the visiting team, putting their first win early in the season, just like Hingham. Every year these two teams battle it out on the ice, with both teams always giving it their all.

Assistant coach Michael Flynn states his view on the game as “Every time we play Duxbury it is a closely contested game that can usually go either way”. It is evident that the team, as well as their coaches, are excited for this high intensity game.

No matter the outcome, the upcoming game against Duxbury is sure to be exciting and entertaining for all. Hopefully the Hingham community will support their girls hockey team by donations or attending their games. Many games this season are located at their home rink, Pilgrim Arena, in Hingham!
