As the school year comes to an eerily slow ending, so too does the spring sports season. I, personally, think that a well-deserved track update is in order. First, I would just like to address the proposals by tack athletes Ivan Frantz, Clay Emmel, and Billy Harrington. Good job, guys.

Also, both girls and boys’ teams have suffered one loss against Plymouth North with both of our records ending at 5-1, a bad night for HHS, but we will get them next time!

Springtime is a wonderful time for personal records or “PRs.” This season we had amazingly fast races with 11.1 second 100 meter dashes, 2:04 minute 800s, 4:31 minute miles, and 10:01 minute two miles.

We also had javelins, shot puts, and discusses thrown so far; it hurts my arm just looking at the measurement. For example, the discus thrown 117’2”, the shotput heaved 43’3”, and the javelin that pierced the ground 129’ away from its wielder.

Not to mention the jumpers… I mean who jumps 20’11”? HHS long jumpers, that’s who! Also in the triple jump was a length 42’5”! Wow.

Congratulations to everyone for a great season. However, we still have one last dual meet against Duxbury on the 17th of May. Then it’s off to the Patriot League meet and States for our qualifiers.

Thank you to all of the “trackletes” reading this for making my freshman year at HHS one I will never forget!
