As Hingham High School wrapped up its final week before vacation, all students happily took part in the annual winter break pep rally on Friday, December 22nd. With games including knockout basketball and an intense round of musical chairs, all attending had a great time.  Hingham High School’s pep rallies are a fantastic way for the entire school community to celebrate upcoming sports events, take a break from classes, and send off students into a well-earned winter break.

After many students feel overwhelmed from a long week of schoolwork, pep rallies allow for a quick break from class and a fun ending to the day. Namely, Sophomore Brooke Pryor demonstrated, “I’m really excited for the pep rally this week because it gets me into the holiday spirit and allows me to relax after a jam-packed week full of tests and quizzes.” Many students would agree that pep rallies are great for taking a quick break from classes.

Today’s pep rally showcased Hingham High School’s winter sports captains. Activities, including hockey, basketball, indoor track, wrestling, swimming, dance team, and gymnastics, are currently in motion in this year’s winter season. Sophomore member of the varsity swim team Lila Johnson describes, “For me, pep rallies are a great way to see my captains and teammates represent our community to Hingham high school. I’m also excited to get a break from class and start off vacation!”. Before commencing the pep rally’s games, all students were advised to attend this weekend’s upcoming double header hockey games and wrestling match.

After the Winter pep rally, students left the building for winter break and a weekend full of sports. Good luck athletes and happy vacation!
