With summer approaching, it is the best time of year to search for the best iced coffee. One thing I personally love as the weather gets nicer is going out for coffee in the morning with my friends and then following it with a long, sunny walk in World’s End. But no one wants to do that with an unsatisfying iced coffee, as it could ruin an otherwise perfect morning. Here is your guide to making sure that never happens and that coffee outings are successful this summer.
Starting off strong is Pour Coffee and Bagel Co. My favorite drink there is the vanilla iced chai. It has a sweeter chai flavor, which I prefer over a stronger or spicier taste. Pour has four locations, but I find the drive-thru in Cohasset especially quick and convenient.
Next up is Lucky Finn Cafe. Honestly, it is hard to go wrong with any iced coffee there. Lately, my favorite has been the Pistachio White Chocolate Iced Coffee. It is not overly sweet like many white chocolate-flavored drinks can be, but still flavorful enough to stand out. I order it with almond milk, which pairs really well with the pistachio flavor.
Liana Melgoza, a sophomore at Hingham High School, said she orders a “cold brew with cinnamon, honey, and oat milk,” adding that it is “the perfect order if you want something sweet but still want to taste the coffee flavor.” As an added bonus, the Scituate Harbor location is especially picturesque if you want to enjoy your coffee with a waterfront view.
Another favorite in Scituate is Brewed 143. They have an amazing Sea Salt Caramel Iced Latte that is perfect for those who prefer drinks that are less sweet. Their coffee tastes especially fresh and well brewed. Gabby Sacco shared, “I had the Cadbury Egg latte at Brewed 143, and it was really flavorful and festive for spring.” Their rotating seasonal drinks definitely give the spot extra bonus points.
Finally, Revive and Co. Kitchen and Juice Bar in Weymouth offers countless options for coffee, smoothies, juices, and food. If you are looking for a sweeter coffee treat, their Caramel Sticky Buns Latte is the perfect option. It includes brown sugar cinnamon, caramel, vanilla whipped cream, and black sea salt. It is basically dessert in coffee form!
These are just a few local spots for you to check out as iced coffee season is approaching. With a variety of flavors and sweetness levels, one of these coffees is bound to be your next favorite.
