As another fantastic school year comes to an end, the annual graduation ceremony for the senior class at Hingham High School takes place, and this year’s Class of 2026 was no exception. Despite the rainy, windy weather, the ceremony, taking place in the High School gymnasium, was just as spectacular as all those before. And with this, and some excellent speeches, the Class of 2026 has officially graduated, and Hingham High School has sent them on their exciting new chapters! Opening with memorable speeches from both Dr. Buckey, the Principal of Hingham High School, and Ms. Kathryn Roberts, the Hingham Public Schools’ Superintendent, the graduation ceremony was filled with loving family members, faculty, and students. Junior Class President, Maggie Flynn, the younger sister of the graduating senior, Catherine Flynn, notes that, “I am honestly so excited for my sister, and I cannot believe that next year my class and I will also be throwing our caps!” With more speeches following from Ethan Warhaftig, the Salutatorian, Torrie Dell, the Valedictorian, Mia Smigiliani, the selected volunteer speaker, and Emily Kiernan, the Class of 2026 President. All of whom paid tribute to the memory of classmates and loved ones who have passed, Maddie McCoy and Andrew Warhaftig, as well as the entire class, wearing purple ribbons in support of Maddie’s Promise. One of the most memorable moments from the ceremony was in Emily Kiernan’s speech, where she stated, “Thank you to this community, this team, this group of people who have made these past 12 years so memorable.” Finally, after all students received their diplomas, the ceremony came to a close, and Emily Kiernan led the ceremonial flip of the tassel and cap toss. With this incredibly memorable graduation, Hingham High School and the community congratulate the Class of 2026 on their incredible achievements and wish them luck on their exciting new chapter!
